Creating A Great Autoresponder Letter Series

Your autoresponder letter series, if written correctly can make you serious money on the Internet.

Studies have proven that most consumers buy only after repeated exposure to a product. This repeated exposure helps you to gain their trust enough to buy from you.

Having an autoresponder system is the hassle-free, automated way to put your product in front of interested buyers enough times to move them from consideration to purchase.

Have information on every page of your site of how a visitor can optin for futher information, join your ezine or newsletter or any incentive you can think of to get them to sign up to your autoresponder series.

Following are some informative tips on creating autoresponder messages that sell your product for you. You'll learn what to say, how to say it, how to format it, and how to avoid having your messages sent straight to the SPAM folder unread.

Heres a breakdown of what your messages should contain.

1. Subject line. The subject line is the first thing people will see when they receive your message. It must be compelling enough to keep them from deleting the message unread. Do your research good on this. Learn everything you can on how to write good headlines. But also don't use hype. Since the person receiving this message has requested it, then it is logical to keep the subject on topic to what they requested to receive in the first place. i.e. Here is the information you requested on _____...

2. The opening sentence. Keep this true to your subject. Expand on it without hype or pressure. Don't mention the sale price, or tell them they must buy your product. Keep it promise based. i.e. tell them what they will learn or gain via the information or service you are going to provide.

For example say your subject was: Thank you ~Name~, here is the information your requested on earning a living at home.

Your opening sentence might be something like this: You are about to learn the very same strategies I use to make a full time living from my home.

3. Introductory paragraph. Explain in a concise paragraph exactly what your product will do for the buyer. Tell them how your product or service will help them to also make a full time living from their home. Avoid using ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation!!! This looks amateurish and, in the majority of cases, get your message deleted.

4. Subheadings and further information. Write bullet point type headlines with either bold letters or one step better put lines above and below them to set them apart. Then expand on these headings in a paragraph or two underneath them.

5. A call to action. After you have finished your sub headlines and the corresponding information. Use a pre- closing paragraph to tell the reader exactly what you want them to do. "Click Here" to download this information instantly! or Click the link below, fill out the form to have this ~~Product~~ delivered to you immediately. Where possible point out the uniqueness of your product. Is it priced lower then competitors? Is it the only one of its kind? Or also if it is a limited time offer. Anything that will give the buyer more incentive to take the above action. Keeping it honest of course. Don't make something up just to get better results.

6. Closing Paragraph. Thank them again and also sum up what will be in the next message. "Watch your email the next few days for a great thank you gift I have set a side for you for taking the time to look at my product.", "I will have a free chapter, from my "make a living at home" ebook, for you in a few days.", etc.

7. DISCLAIMER. This is a short paragraph to remind people they are receiving your message because they asked to be on your list. It will keep them from clicking the SPAM button if they decide they aren't interested in your product, and keep your autoresponder and web site off Internet blacklists.

8. Unsubscribe link. This is critical to a successful autoresponder campaign. You must give subscribers the option to discontinue receiving messages from you, or you will be labeled as SPAM. Most autoresponder services will provide you with an automatic unsubscribe list for all your autoresponder series. All you have to do is make sure to include the link in your message.

One of the most powerful ways to get more traffic to your site can be your autoresponder series. Your well-crafted messages will send people in droves to your site to check out what you have to say. Just make sure you give them a good reason to go there, and great reasons to keep coming back, and you will build a rock-solid autoresponder campaign that keeps your profits rolling in.

A quick tip on how to format the messages... with today's advances in email, HTML is a good option if your autoresponder system allows it. One step better is to use one that has both plain text and HTML options so that when a person has HTML turned off for their email software, they will receive the text version only. For the letters to look uniform and to avoid the auto wrapping many autoresponder systems will use when adding your letters, I highly recommend not making the lines of your letters longer than 50 characters in length.

Ten Business Writing Blunders You Can Easily Avoid

Most of us are too busy worrying about what we are writing to think much about how we are writing it. However, in business communication, having command of a clear, readable style is essential to getting your point across.

Here are ten types of sentence blunders to avoid if you want your reader to get what you mean and not have to stumble through what you write.

1. Run-On Sentences. You know the ones: they drag on and on, packing a paragraph's worth of details into a single sentence. Short sentences are easier to understand than long ones; they provide information in bits and pieces instead of a flood. In most business writing, aim for an average sentence length of 20 or fewer words. Note that this is an average, not a ceiling-the best writing contains both long and short sentences to keep it interesting.

2. Pompous Sentences. Many business writers use a phrase or a whole clause when a well-chosen verb would be much clearer. They do so to try to make themselves appear more knowledgeable or articulate than they actually are. Do not fall prey to this error by using big words or trite expressions-keep your writing at the level of your reader.

3. Overloaded Sentences. Such sentences are bloated with excess words. The passive voice is a common culprit, adding unnecessarily to the word count. Redundancies are also to blame-verbose phrases can usually be replaced with one or two words, making your sentences concise and meaningful.

4. Undue Enthusiasm. An occasional intensifier lends emphasis, but using too many can ruin your writing and give the impression that you are not being genuine. Otherwise, you come across like the literary version of a game-show host-wear that grin too bright for too long, and it will lose its meaning.

5. Crowded-Together Sentences. Many writers tend to try to connect a series of related sentences with conjunctions such as "and" instead of ending each with a period. In many cases, these sentences can be improved and shortened by using only one subject.

6. Hedging Sentences. It is tempting to insert "it seems that" or "there appears to be" in your sentences in order to avoid stating a judgment as a fact. However, when you have too many such hedges, particularly in the same sentence, you are not really saying anything. More often than not, your reader will know what is fact and what is inference.

7. Slow Starters. Starting a sentence with "it is" or "there are" simply delays getting to your point. Compare: "It would be appreciated if you could send the files immediately," versus "Please send the files immediately."

8. Nonparallel Sentences. Two or more similar (parallel) ideas should be presented in the same pattern, whether within sentences or between sentences. Lack of parallelism creates an awkward style. For example, the clauses in this sentence are not parallel: "Mr. Reynolds dictated the letter and next he signed it, and left the office." Compare that to this: "Mr. Reynolds dictated the letter, signed it, and left the office."

9. Awkward Pointers. To save words, business writers will often point readers' attention backward with expressions like "as mentioned above," "the aforementioned," "the former," "the latter," and so on. Doing so is a distraction to the reader and is usually unnecessary. If a reference does need to be made, it is better to name or restate the specific thing to which you are referring.

10. Misassembled Sentences. A misassembled sentence is one in which an element is in the wrong place. The most common misplacement is at the beginning of the sentence, creating a "dangling modifier." Take this awkward example: "Walking to the office, a red sports car passed him." Moving the modifier is an easy solution here: "A red sports car passed him while he was walking to the office."

Making the Best Choices

We are each the sum total of the choices we have made to date. If we want a new reality, we have to make new choices. After all, the very definition of insanity is to do the same thing always and expect a different result. When we change our actions, we change our results. A perfect case in point is my Godmother, famed Hollywood costumer Edith Head. At age thirty she was teaching French to an all girls school in California, and because she had studied a semester abroad in Europe the school assumed she could also teach art. She in fact couldn't draw more than stick figures but took on the task. While looking in the paper one day, she saw a contest for drawing costumes for one of the major movie studios.

She wanted a change in career and boldly without permission "borrowed" some of her student's sketches and entered the contest. She won! When showing up on the first day and being asked to draw, she was found out, but her courage and presumption so captivated the costume designer that he took her on. The rest is history including 8 Oscars for costume design over a 50-year career. She lived a life of her own design.

Living from the Heart

Life is in the living, not in the stuff. Stuff more often than not simply weighs us down and stands in our way. In order to move forward, to continue growing and changing, we must let things go. Those elements we keep with us must serve as inspiration and memories, not as baggage. What you bring forward is up to you. My mother, Anne Baxter, was an academy award winning actress to many. To me she was a single working parent, too often gone on location and on tour. But she taught valuable lessons. She knew from age seven that she wanted to act and pursued it with a singlemindedness that few of us possess for anything in our lives. At the same time she managed to write an autobiography about her life with my father, and was in the middle of the second one about her life growing up when she died. Mother lived each and every moment with passion, vigor, and commitment to her finest. She challenged us to do the same and instilled the value I describe here. She lived her life by her own design.

When Mother passed some 20+ years ago now, we each had only a file folder of mementos that she had kept (I have two sisters). This was such a gift rather than what I see so often with clients. They keep hordes of baby clothes, bronzed shoes, elementary school artwork projects most of us would soon forget, broken trophies from days gone by and too much more. Mother saved the best, the things that really counted to her and hence they mattered to us. What better gift. The most significant legacy she left was the memories of times spent together, not the stuff left behind. When you live from your heart and your mind, not by your hand and your purse, you will truly know that it is the connections and relationships that define us, not our possessions. He who dies with the most toys, still dies.

I have received many queries by readers on how to match their shoes against their other mens clothing, like suit or pants. Actually it is not as difficult as they think it is since the choices of colors for men's shoes are quite limited. Unless you have a taste for extraordinary colors, otherwise there should not be much problem coordinating dress shoes.

Always remember that formality of dress shoes begins from the darkness of its color. For example, black is always the most formal color while light brown is the least formal. So you should match your shoes against your suits or pants based on the occasion. If you are attending a formal business dinner, then naturally black shoes are your ultimate choice rather than brown shoes.

Of late, there are more men wearing light brown or camel colored dress shoes against their dark colored suits or pants. These high contrast creates a very trendy style which I personally like. However, we should also note that this combination gives a more casual feel toward it.

What if the suit or pants are brown-based colors like olive or chocolate colors? Must we definitely wear it against brown shoes? Not necessarily, black shoes are just as fine. Of course, brown shoes would let the color flow very smoothly but black is still a color that can fit nicely. Remember that black is the color for formal.

Lace-up shoes are one step better than slip-ons for their formality. At the same time, lace-ups are split into Balmoral and Blucher types. Refer to Mens Dress Shoes Styles for their differences. The latter is always considered less formal because of its open throat design.

So remember that whether you want a formal or casual look would depend on your choice of two criteria: the dress shoe style and its color. My brother actually has a gray shoe that is blucher styled with pointed tip and polished patented leather. A Public Speaking Nightmare

Recently, I attended a keynote presentation by a major radio executive in Toronto. Which, may sound interesting enough but, what happened at this event may make you think twice about how fine tuned your public speaking skills really are!

It all started innocently enough when a representative from the hosting organization got up to introduce the keynote speaker. What happened next can only be described as a complete public speaking meltdown and a humiliating nightmare.

After taking the stage and nervously placing herself behind the podium, she immediately launched into a twenty minute litany about herself, her quirky mother, nine rooms in her house, her alcoholic father, her trip to Boston, her move to New York etc. And, as she rested her elbows on the podium she held tightly to her face two goose-neck microphones. (I know you can picture this in your head!) And, while this looked obviously inappropriate she also never got around to mentioning anything about the keynote speaker.

With growing frustration, chairs around the room started to shift, people started to moan, and people began to give hand signals to hurry up and get off the stage. Yet, despite all the warning signs, she just kept going. Then, it happened. She got heckled by the audience! Get off the stage for crying out loud, let the speaker speak! said one. Thats enough! said the other. And, this was not just any audience! This was a prominent well-to-do money making business audience.

Not only did she never even get to the point but, but she failed completely in her duty to introduce and honour the keynote speaker. After realizing her professional blunder (due to the loud heckling from the audience) she politely said well it looks like Ive run out of time. Though she tried to regain her composure, she sheepishly began reading the guest speakers credentials off a page in a monotone voice like she was reading names from a phonebook.

I can honestly tell you that it was truly painful to be in that audience and watch such a complete and utter self-destruction! The whole room was not only uncomfortable but some audience members were clearly angry! This is just one example of the many potential public speaking mishaps that I witness on a regular basis.

I have been to many arts and craft fairs and festivals in my life and theres on thing I notice in all of them. They are busy. Let me tell you how I got started in doing arts and crafts. After I visited many of the arts and crafts fairs and festivals, I went home and decided get some e-books on making arts and crafts. The first e-book I got was about soap making. I got this e-book because at the last arts and crafts festival I was at, the soaps was the biggest sellers. I read the e-book and learned how to make soap. I got to work on making soap for the nest arts and craft festival. I didnt want to make a lot of soap at first for fear of not selling it all. Well, I made about 100 bars of soap and asked a friend if I can sell at his book. He said yes. I ended up selling 75 bars of soap. I made a nice little profit from selling the soap.

After that arts and crafts festival, I went home and got a few more e-books. I got about gel candle making, bath salt making and perfume making. I read all the e-books and got busy with making some more soap, and I started to make perfume, bath salt and gel candles. With the research that I did by going to the arts and crafts fairs and festival, I found out what was hot to sell now.

Anyway, I went back to another arts and crafts festival and ended up getting my own booth. I ended up selling all but 10 bars of soap, selling all the bath salt I made, selling all but 1 gel candle and I sold all perfume I made. That weekend I made about $500 with only putting in $100 in products. I was happy. So I went home and ended up get another e-book. I got how to make a wind chime e-book. How to Legally Sell an Affiliate Product on Ebay

If you're involved as an affiliate for any product, you've probably wrestled with how you can sell the product on eBay.

After all, eBay offers you a massive potential audience of 168 million members. And people who read about your product will likely have found it by searching, thus saying they are interested in the product area in which your product resides.

The bad news, however, is that there is no easy way to market affiliate products on eBay!

First of all, if you haven't heard of affiliate selling, here's a very quick description of how it works.

Fundamentally, selling an affiliate product requires that you get interested buyers to click on a special link. This link takes the person to the product owner's sales page. More importantly, the link also contains your unique affiliate code. It is this code which ensures that sales made from your introductions are recorded in your affiliate account. Finally, if your prospect purchases the product, it is the owner who handles product delivery and who also pays you your sales commission payment.

On eBay, you could easily set up an auction saying how marvelous your affiliate product is. You will certainly attract a number of people who would be interested in buying. The problem is, you have no legitimate way of selling it to eBay members!

This is because it's against eBay's rules to have a link in your auction page which takes your readers away to another website to make a sale. So, you can't just create a sales page with your affiliate link.

Also, if you think about it, you don't even have the affiliate product to deliver. There's no mechanism for you to make the sale on eBay, and deliver the product. If you recall, this is handled automatically by the product owner.

So here are two ways in which you can tap into the eBay market with your affiliate products.

1. The Simple System

You create an auction which explains the benefits of the affiliate product you're promoting. This would be the normal sales page for the product you're promoting.

But what do you offer on your eBay auction?

First off, you need to create a 2 or 3 page report about your affiliate product. Ideally this should be based on your personal experience with the product. Failing that, it should be written in your own personal style. The key points are that these are your own words, and the report includes your affiliate link to the product.

The next step is to find other items for your "package". You do this by using Google search to locate related free products.

Let's suppose you're an affiliate for an ebook which teaches how to paint and draw figures. On Google you would search for something like - figure drawing free.

It took me under 10 minutes to locate the following freebies:

And there are many more you could unearth given a little more research time. Be a little careful in your selection - you don't want to give away something which will compete with your affiliate ebook.

Having found your items, what you now do is bundle them up and add them to your 2/3 page report. You then create an auction which offers the whole package for 99 cents or pence.

There's no way eBay can possibly object to this auction.

As you can see, all it really takes to get your affiliate product in front of eBay's massive market place is a little creativity.

Well I was just like you not long ago, slaving away at my PC trying to find the best strategies for online business success. As I was a complete novice, I thought, there had to be people on the web who had been through this search for good products and would give honest product reviews. I was wrong!

I bought products which had great reviews on these independent business review sites. However I was still getting stung by inferior products which didnt deliver. This is when I asked myself the question. Why is it so hard to find honest, independent product review information?

I know I was a bit slow on the uptake (actually a mentally challenged monkey, would have caught on quicker than what I did). However that is when I started reading about affiliate programs.

The light bulb was turned on in my brain (a true eureka moment) and that is when I realised, the review sites were affiliates of the products they were selling. This meant that if I bought a product through a link on the business review sites, the review site received a percentage (generally over 50 %!) of the sale. Not a bad deal really, considering all the hard work is done by the product creator.

I smelt a rat and after further investigation I found out that most of the reviews arent reviews at all. None of the review sites told me about their ulterior motive and to be honest I was very annoyed especially after investing so much of my money and time.

Thats a judgement call, but I suggest limiting it to no more than 10 people at a time. Its like being stranded on an island and throwing a message in a bottlesee where it will float.

Why does this have tremendous potential to work for you? If you send your email to 10 people who, in turn, send it to 10 people, who do the same to another 10 people, your email will be exposed to about a 1,000 people. And if these 1,000 people send it to 10 others, your email will be exposed to 10,000 people. And if this process repeats one more time, you are exposed to 100,000 people and once more, a million people! And if one (1) percent of those million people visited your site (10,000 people) and, only one percent of those people (100 people) purchased your offer, well, you get the point.

Understaning Bidding Methods When Buying Tax Lien Certificates

Tax lien sales have many different variations. The statutes vary by state. In many areas, the rules will also vary at the county level.

One of the most important things that you need to remember when buying tax lien certificates at a tax auction is understanding the method by which the county determines who is going to buy the tax lien certificate. In some areas, this is determined by the investor bidding down the interest rate for the lien. In many other areas the county will sell the liens on a percentage of ownership basis. In other jurisdictions, the county uses a round robin procedure to determine the winner of the auction. In this article, I will explain the differences between the methods and the advantages and disadvantages of each method.

The most common type of auction is the bid down auction. The auctioneer simply starts the bidding at the top rate for that jurisdiction and then the rate is bid down until the lien is sold. In certain areas, investors can make up for a low rate by paying subsequent taxes and through minimum rate guarantee statutes.

The advantage of the bid down method is you can easily bid on the exact lien that meets your needs. You also don't have any possible co-ownership scenarios that can make it difficult to file foreclosure and take full possession of the property.

In other states, it is on a percentage of ownership basis. What this means is that the interest rate remains flat, but in the event of foreclosure, the investor and the property owner become co-owners of the property. The initial bid is with the investor at 100% and it goes down until the lien is sold.

This method is great for high interest rates. Iowa uses this method, which means that you are guaranteed a very nice 24% rate. The problem with this is that if you end up as a co-owner with the taxpayer, you may have an expensive legal hassle on your hands to actually take possession of the property.

In other states, the bidding is on a round robin basis. In these areas, the auctioneer offers the lien around the room until someone buys it. They are always at the maximum rate allowed by statute.

In round robin states, you get a nice guaranteed rate of return on your tax lien certificate, and don't have to mess with the co-ownership issue. However, in round robin states, it is much more difficult to actually get the liens that meet your needs. If you decline during your turn, then you have to wait for luck of the draw to see if you get the lien that you want. If you are a big money investor, then it's not that big of a deal because you can buy a lot of different liens. But as a smaller investor who can only afford a couple of the liens on the book, this restriction can be very limiting.

As you can tell, the bidding procedure is something that is very important in the tax lien research process. With proper planning, you can wade through the minefield and reap great rewards!

When you are writing, and especially when you are writing to sell something, focus on your reader. They (Usually) dont care about how great your product is, they only care about how great it will be to them. Use the Words You and Your. Make your reader feel how much it is going to benefit THEM.

I played around with the copy a lot and the product was great, but it was not selling. I invested in a split testing software and created two different versions of the sales page. By minimizing the use of I We and Our and increased the use of You and Your, the sales of the book increased by 60%. Thats a lot!

ASK QUESTIONS

Asking your readers questions is also a great way to engage them. Make them think. Make them ask the questions YOU WANT THEM TO ASK! Questions that YOU have an answer for. Have a specific call to action and lead them down the path.

State And Feds At Odds Over New Rules For Scoring Arizona Schools

The U.S. Department of Education changed its rules for measuring the progress of public schools during the 2005-2006 school year. The impact was devastating to the Arizona schools, which had more than 600 schools marked as failed. That is nearly three times as many schools as last year.

For the first time, the Arizona schools were forced to include AIMS test scores for reading and math of students, who are in their second or third year of learning English. Another change lessened the amount of help a school may give special education students in completing the AIMS test. Additionally, the Arizona schools now are required to expand the number of students tested each year. In the past, they tested students in the third, fifth, eighth and tenth grades. Now, the Arizona schools must test all students in grades three through eight, as well as high school sophomores.

Superintendent Tom Horne is outspoken on the federal mandates, calling them illogical and absurd. He cites that these changes are responsible for nearly 400 additional Arizona schools failing to meet minimum federal progress measures, with about 112 schools failing only because of the requirement to include the scores of students within their first three years of learning English. He vehemently stated that the new federal rules make it impossible for many Arizona schools to succeed. Many Arizona schools students have only arrived from Mexico the year before and cannot be expected to be proficient in English, making it more difficult for them to pass the math and reading portions of the AIMS test.

The only consolation offered by federal officials is for the Arizona schools to offer those students a translation of the AIMS test, making it easier for them to understand. Horne emphasizes the need for more time for these students. So far, federal officials ignore Hornes argument by stating that if a group of students are not counted, then they probably are not being taught.

Horne filed a lawsuit against the federal government in July 2006 to stop the inclusion of English as a Second Language student test scores until their fourth year of English language classes. Until the lawsuit is settled, the Arizona schools must continue to include these student test scores.

Horne, as well as many educators and administrators across the state, see the federal mandate as impractical. They say it paints an unfair picture of many reputable Arizona schools. They are concerned that the negative failed label and bad publicity will damage individual Arizona schools that have worked hard to maintain their otherwise high achievement levels.

In 2005, there were 54 Arizona schools that failed to meet the minimum progress measure four or more years in a row. In 2006, that figure increased to 66 Arizona schools. This mandate puts more Arizona schools on the road to potentially failing four years in a row, which means mandatory state intervention into those Arizona schools daily operations. If these failed Arizona schools continue to fail in future years, federal law requires the state to make even bigger changes, which usually starts with the replacement of principals and teachers.

Horne hopes to prevail through a favorable court decision. Otherwise, many Arizona schools soon will experience dramatic consequences.
